  • What is Investor Coaching?
We help our clients throughout their lifespan make wise choices regarding their wealth. We focus on eliminating clients’ dangers and capturing their opportunities. Throughout the Investor Coaching educational classes we focus on life planning topics, such as: choosing your investment philosophy, defeating your money demons, examining your expectations, lowering income taxes, business succession, eliminating estate taxes, lowering investment costs and reducing risk, long term care, charitable strategies and retirement income needs. The process analyzes and recommends strategies to assist you in achieving your lifetime goals. Depending on your specific desires and needs, some or all of these areas will be addressed orally or in writing.
  • How much money do you need to start our Investor Coaching?
Richard advises clients with a minimum of $100,000 to invest. The minimums do not include the management of 401k or other “captive” employer retirement plans. However, the professional money manager will manage those accounts as well in the Modern Portfolio style, within the employer’s plan. We manage 100% of our clients’ investment assets.

  • What is Money Under Management (MUM)?
MUM is a true diversification and management of your investment portfolio; based upon your individual objectives, risk tolerance and other factors. Clients will be provided with regular periodic reports as to how their investments have performed. Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback™) offers discretionary money management services through sub-advisors.

  • How much to we charge for Investor Coaching?
Since the beginning of time, the financial services profession has been defined by two competing armies: the salespeople (who want to convince people to buy stuff to further the employer and salesperson's own bottom line) and the professional advisors (who are there to provide impartial advice about the stuff those other folks are selling). The salespeople are eternally trying to blur the lines between the two groups and pose as professionals; while the advisors are eternally trying to make those blurry lines clear again.

    Investor Coaching Fees

Investor coaching is not about having all the answers; it is primarily about asking and answering the right questions. We help you establish goals that are in sync with your personal values and purpose. Our fees for creating a Comprehensive Investor Inventory and Free Market Analysis typically range from $500 to $5000. Your fee will be determined in advance and will reflect the complexity of your particular circumstances. A deposit of 50% of the proposed fee will be required when you engage us. The balance is paid when the game plan is delivered.

Coaching hourly fee is $200 per hour and will be charged in 30 minute increments. Fees are not collected for services to be provided more than 6 months in advance. Projects spanning more than tree months will be billed monthly at the end of each month of coaching.

Investor coaching is a continuous process. We provide our planning clients with ongoing lifetime planning assistance on an annual retainer basis. Our retainer is determined with each client individually and is waived for clients who use our Investment Management Services and meet certain minimums. Your retainer will be based upon the amount of time we expect to devote to working with you over the coming year. Our ongoing planning activities focus on keeping your plan and strategies up to date, measuring your progress against your plan targets and addressing any current issues or concerns you may have.

Investment Management Fees

We charge our clients an investment management fee, usually deducted from one of their investment accounts so we do not disrupt your monthly cash flow.

Occasionally we may use an investment that cannot be purchased on a "no commission" basis. This accounts for less than 5% of the overall revenues and is fully discussed and disclosed prior to being added to a portfolio.

Assets Under Management Maximum Annual Fee
First $500,000
The Next $500,000
The Next $3,000,000
The remainder over $4,000,000
Up to 2%
Up to 1%
Up to .75%
Up to .5%

* Minimum annual fee for Investment Management Services is $2,000.

Investment management fees may be negotiable and at the discretion of Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback™) and therefore may vary from client to client. However, fee will be relatively consistent across clients of similar nature (based on factors such as number of accounts, account sizes, services provided, and complexity of account management).

You'll receive lifetime coaching for all of your financial needs as long as you remain a client.

  • Are the Advisory Fees deductible?
IRS Code Section 212 states that investment advisory and financial planning fees incurred may be deductible as miscellaneous itemized expenses to the extent that they exceed 2% of your adjusted gross income. Other miscellaneous itemized deductions which fall into the same category are fees paid for a safe deposit box, estate planning fees, tax preparation fees, attorney and legal fees, and more. So the short answer is fees paid for wealth advisory services may be deductible and we encourage our clients to ask their accountant or CPA about the deductibility of fees.

  • Are your fees competitive to other providers?
Our fees are not only competitive; they’re a great value for the service provided and value added to your financial and investment planning! We’re happy to provide you an apples to apples comparison of the fees you’re paying (or the proposed fees you’ll pay another advisor) and our fees. Our fees are simple to understand and reasonable. Most importantly, we believe in FULL DISCLOSURE – so we never hide or bury our fees like other brokers or “financial planners”.

  • Do we sell financial planning products such as investments and insurance?
We provide Investor Coaching on a fee basis. Certain products, however, can be purchased from us or other agents who are insurance licensed. If the client purchases these products, we may receive a normal commission. Thus a conflict may exist. However, we provide full disclosure to the client for them to make a prudent decision. If we receive a commission, there are no advisory fees charged to those accounts.

  • Does Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback™) invest in financial products recommended to their clients?
At times, the principals and affiliated persons of Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback™) may invest in products recommended to the client. Client accounts are always given priority.

  • If Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback™) develops a Financial Game Plan, are you obligated to use the recommended money manager or purchase the recommended products?
    Absolutely not.

  • Does Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback ™) hold client securities?
Absolutely Not. Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC is not a custodian and does not hold client assets. In addition, we do not generate client statements.

  • Does Wealth and Business Planning Group, LLC (The Financial Quarterback™) provide tax preparation or legal services?
No. Tax and legal services are provided in conjunction with our Alliance Partners. You may obtain a list of these professionals at any time by calling our offices.

Free Market Modern Portfolio Theory, technical and cyclical analysis are used, as well as a fundamentals approach, which takes into account economic conditions, earnings, industry outlook, politics (as it relates to the investment), historical data, price-earnings ratios, dividends, general level of interest rates, company management and tax benefits. We attempt to select the client’s investments to harmonize with his or her risk level and financial objectives. We do not speculate, gamble or market time.
